Artists of Faith Offer Diverse Visions - [Collage]
2020
Revised Common Lectionary
ÔÇ£This collage represents a portion of the artists included in my part of the Revised Common Lectionary project. Through this pre-established project used by so many local churches, I was able to introduce new images by new artists and hopefully, in a small way, thus increase our imaginations about what it looks like to be a saint, what holy animals look like in different regions, and introduce new artists to the local church. I am fascinated by visual art and wanted to share my joy in this way and communicate nonverbally, which is more a strength of mine than the verbal, what I find to be important images for our time. I think that which is visual is key in an age of Instagram for communicating our values and increasing our spiritual imaginations. The artists included in this project were so generous with local churches to let us include these works and I am beyond grateful to them for that and for their work which encourages me and inspires me about the future of our world which is a more inclusive, just and colorful one!ÔÇØ
