One of the important foci of the Revised Common Lectionary is providing spiritual art that reflects the variety within Christian community. Diversity among creeds, geographic-social location, and ethnicity are areas that RCL art images seek to reflect. This intersection is reflected in a project developed by the Vanderbilt Divinity Library and Vanderbilt Divinity School student, Becca Griffin, VDS class of 2020 and recipient of the Florence Conwell Prize for outstanding work in the discipline of preaching. As an active participant in VDS worship planning and as an intern with Brookmeade Congregational Church, Becca introduced a diverse group of artists into the worship experience. This deepened the universal connection that underlies the shared scripture reading of the RCL in diverse communities around the world. What follows are BeccaÔÇÖs own words, describing her vision and process.
